Our reviews
'We ( two couples) really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Oriel House. Super clean home with comfy beds and immaculate bedding , a very stylish interior , completed by luxury bathrooms . Location is great and we were able to walk out to a variety of pubs and restaurants, Lots to see and do in the local area. On request Grace made some suggestions to us for evening meals and these were spot on. Had a fabulous time and look forward to visiting again' Airbnb review, July 2024.
'We adored our time at Oriel House. The house is in an amazing location and the property itself is a true gem. The house felt sophisticated and well thought out and it was spotless!
Grace’s communication and the booking/check in process was excellent. Warkworth is a lovely village and Oriel House is the perfect home from home to explore this amazing place.' Airbnb review, May/June 2024.
Beautifully designed, decorated and furnished, Oriel House is a genuine 5 star dwelling. The location beneath the castle is spectacular and the village of Warkworth is extremely friendly, unspoiled and filled with great places to eat and drink. The host, Grace, matches the high standard of the house by being outstandingly communicative, responding to all queries with lightning speed and with very friendly, helpful and informative detail. This is the benchmark for all Airbnb properties and may have spoiled us for future locations :-).' Airbnb review, April 2024.
'I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oriel House. Grace & Joe were brilliant hosts from the moment of booking to checking out, with great communication and recommendations before we arrived to making sure all was ok through out our stay. The house itself is beautifully decorated with so many nice little touches and the location is perfect for exploring Walkworth and the Northumberland coast. Oh and the huge bath in the master bedroom ensuite is amazing! We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Grace and Joe for a perfect, relaxing weekend..' Airbnb review, March 2024.
'Oriel House lived up to expectations (which were high!). The property was as described - very clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable in a beautiful location. Grace is an excellent host; she provides a wealth of information on the local area and communicates promptly.
We ate at the Mason Arms in Warkworth, which is a traditional pub with very good food and then at the Whittling House in Alnmouth, which is a more upmarket hotel/restaurant with great food. Breakfast at Bertams in Warkworth was also very good.
There are beautiful walks from the house and an unexpected treat was visiting Warkworth Castle just across from the property. It's much more interesting to tour than it looks from the outside and we thought it well worth the entrance fee.' Airbnb review, January 2024.
'Oriel House has got to be THE cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in! It is delightfully furnished, and absolutely gorgeous! There is everything one needs to be entirely comfortable. And the location, looking out onto the castle, is breathtaking! Our hosts were welcoming and available, if needed… and what a lovely village, too! We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Please note: if you have a longer car, parking may be a bit challenging… but it is, without a doubt, worth the effort! For those with EVs, there is a painfully slow charger in the village, within easy walking distance to the cottage… (it is hosted by EVCharge.online). Just plug in overnight, and you’ll be ready to go again in the morning! Oh, and the bed was SUPER comfy… and I have a fractured spine, so that’s really saying something!.'
