Warkworth is an all year round destination, a perfect blend of coast and country. The village benefits from three great pubs, a local convenience store and post office. Gift shops, independent cafes, restaurants and a French bakery/chocolatier.

The beautiful golden sands of Warkworth Beach are a mere 10-15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away. The clean sands and rolling dunes of Warkworth beach are a must-visit during your stay!

For a spot of history; Explore the magnificent medieval ruins of Warkworth Castle at the top of Castle street. Discover the circuit of almost completely intact tower walls inside the cross-shaped keep. During your visit you can pick up a free audio tour or guidebook to learn all about the amazing history attached to this impressive Castle.

In the summer months take a stroll half a mile up the River bank from the Castle and catch a rowing boat across to the Hermitage, steeped in history. The Hermitage is a religious building carved out of the rock face. English Heritage suggests the 'peaceful setting of this hidden gem was probably built as a private chapel for the first Earl of Northumberland'.
